The Perfect Steak
Cast iron skillet
Stick of butter
Fresh garlic cloves (barely smashed)
Heat skillet until almost smoking.
Then add EVOO. Season steaks with S&P. Sear steaks; about 4 minutes on each side. After you turn the steaks, add stick of butter, garlic, thyme. Continue searing, constantly basting. After 4 minutes on each side, bake in 400 degree oven 4 minutes. This will give you a medium to medium well steak. Bake 2 more minutes, for well done.
REST the meat before serving.
